Welcome Jobr, the newest addition to the Monster family
Acquisition of the swipe left, swipe right job app will drive our mobile recruiting solutions
By Mark Stoever, President & COO, Monster
I’m excited to share some big news. Earlier today Monster announced it acquired Jobr, the leading mobile job discovery app. This is an important step in delivering on our mission: to create and deliver the best recruiting media, technologies and platforms for connecting jobs and people.
Since its founding in 2014, Jobr has emerged as a recruiting industry leader, with a simple, consumer-friendly and mobile-first approach to connect jobs and people. This approach centers on an app that uses a novel ‘Tinder-like’ model to allow job seekers to quickly connect with or dismiss job opportunities by swiping right or left on job postings and then apply for those jobs. Jobr also provides tools for recruiters to manage on-app job applicants and interact with them. Today, the app features more than 1 million jobs (including many from Monster) and has generated 100 million job views.
In coming months we will work to integrate the Jobr app with our global talent platform, adding key features including single sign on and Monster membership workflows, and then extending operations into the various markets in which we do business.
Equally as important, the incredibly talented team at Jobr, based in San Francisco, will become part of the Monster family, helping us to accelerate our native mobile development initiatives and improve our offerings.
Monster’s promise is to bring humanity and opportunity to the job market. By adding the impressive Jobr team to the Monster family we take an incremental step forward in delivering on this, and in creating new opportunities to connect jobs and people. Watch this space for more developments to come.
