2nd shift School Nurse (LPN) with residential program
42 weeks/year, 37.5 hours/week
Sunday (4p-10p), Monday through Thursday (2p-10p); hours are negotiable.
School holidays and summers off.
This shift covers the end of the school day, and continues to serve the residential students until bed. The culture of the nursing department is teamwork, inclusion, and respect. The purpose of the school nurse is to support a student’s medical needs to enhance their access to education. SCSDB serves students with significant hearing or vision impairments, or a combination of sensorineural impairments and other medical issues, in an education model school. Light medication caseload shared with a second nurse, as well as meeting acute needs and occasional emergency medical needs of students on campus. Works with RN to develop and maintain Individualized Healthcare Plans for students, when appropriate. Maintains medical records through proper documentation. Assists in the implementation of annual staff education programs.
