Description

Assist the accounting department with routine day-to-day activities and work on projects as assigned. 

Including, but not limited to, the following duties:

  • Perform daily activities for accounts payable as deemed necessary.
  • Responsible for mail / filing duties.
  • Respond to customer / supplier information requests as needed.
  • Act as a backup for sales invoicing.
  • Work with accounting department in maintaining and improving the general accounting processes thru use of Lean practices.

Assist the accounting department with other general accounting activities as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or one to three years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

Individual must possess general computer skills and be proficient in Excel and other Microsoft based programs.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
