Accounting Manager

Our client in Bethesda, MD is seeking to hire an Accounting Managerto join their growing team. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional outsourced accounting solutions.

What You’ll Do as an Accounting Manager:

• Serve as the lead advisor and accounting expert for a portfolio of GovCon clients.
• Oversee full-cycle accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, GL, and month-end close.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, indirect rate models, and cash flow projections.
• Guide and mentor junior staff, ensuring quality and consistency across deliverables.
• Support year-end reporting, 1099s, audits, and DCAA compliance.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
• Communicate directly with client executives, providing strategic insights and updates.

What We’re Looking For in an Accounting Manager:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 8+years accounting experience in government contracting
• Management experience leading and developing team members
• Unanet or Deltek software experience
• Experience with GAAP, FAR, and cost accounting standards.
• Proven leadership in client relationships and project management.
• Experience in boutique firms or consulting environments a plus.
