Position Summary:

Penske is seeking an ambitious and inquisitive Accounting Manager to join our Controllership team. Penske is a leader in the transportation industry. We help move lives and businesses forward. The Controllership team is looking for an individual to provide “best in class” support through their expertise and fresh thinking. The Accounting Manager will work closely with management to ensure accurate record-keeping related to the financing activities of the organization. They will provide support during monthly close and financial reporting periods. In addition, this position will participate in special projects and lead and develop associates.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review external quarterly and annual financial statements, with focus on the Partnership’s financing activities and variable interest entity
  • Review and support the recording and reporting of accounting transactions related to financing facilities, in compliance with GAAP
  • Prepare and review supporting schedules for related balance sheet and income statement relationships
  • Review variance analyses and communicate results in concise and clear form
  • Support the maintenance, understanding, and updating of financing models
  • Provide accounting support with the application of GAAP to new transactions for specific areas of responsibility
  • Review and support the preparation of certain sections of debt offering memorandums, ensuring all amounts are adequately supported
  • Prepare and review consolidation accounting transactions and monthly reporting to multiple partners
  • Supervise and develop associates
  • Develop and lead process improvement initiatives
  • Establish rapport and build cooperative working relationships with relevant internal and external parties
  • Lead and participate in special projects and other task as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 5 years related experience demonstrating knowledge of financial statement analysis, financial reporting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • CPA, CMA or MBA preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and people management skills
  • Strong team player and self-driven individual
  • Ability to multi-task and meet closing and reporting deadlines
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint required
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required
