Job Description Summary

Candidates should be passionate educators and practitioners who can facilitate the needs of diverse 21st century learners within a Learning Management Systems D2L, Brightspace, Blackboard, Moodle, Instructure Canvas, etc.

     

The successful candidate must have some college-level teaching experience (or equivalent), a high level of computer literacy, and a commitment to teaching. Candidates should demonstrate (1) a mastery of their specific discipline; (2) a deep commitment to the college mission of fostering student success, achievement and persistence; (3) technology competencies as well as teaching/counseling skills and strategies that facilitate 21st century literacies; (4) the use of resources that prepare students for productive lives; (5) experience using various educational technological mediums; (6) experience as a Nurse or in the Medical/ Health Sciences field.

Minimum Education:

  • Associates Degree and two years’ professional field experience

Minimum Certification/Licenses:

  • Teacher Certificate- Educator Certificationpreferred.

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • Two years’ experience teaching students age 8-16 years old preferred.

  • Preferred Experience Teaching within Learning Management Systems such as: (Blackboard Learn, D2L, Brightspace, Moodle, Instructure Canvas, etc.)

  • Experience teaching in a formal academic setting, preferred

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,). Ability to teach topics related to law and government for a diverse age-group of learners.
