The City of Friendswood is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant to Director in the Fire Marshal's Office / Office of Emergency Management.
The Fire Marshal's Office / Office of Emergency Management (FMO/OEM) leads the City's fire prevention efforts, emergency management planning and operations, and numerous grants and contracts related to prevention, protection, response, mitigation, and recovery operations. In addition, the FMO/OEM manages the fire suppression and emergency medical services contracts for the City.
To assist the Director in providing an effective and efficient operation of day-to-day activities within the Fire Marshal's Office / Office of Emergency Management in accordance with the guidelines, policies, and appropriations established by City Council, the City Charter, and the Department.
Minimum Education and Experience Required to Perform the Job:
And:
Seven years progressively responsive, responsible administrative and secretarial experience, and experience developing, applying, and interpreting policies and procedures.
And:
Experience working in local government, especially the public safety disciplines (emergency management, emergency medical services, fire, or police).
NOTE:
This position will require 24-hour availability during emergency conditions.
