Alaska | Village Missionary Pilot
Opportunity Overview:
SEND North is seeking pilots with a passion for ministry and service who are eager to live in an Alaska village. If you have aviation training and a heart for direct ministry, we invite you to join our team! Your main role will be to support local and regional church planting efforts through evangelism and discipleship. Additionally, you will serve as a regional pilot for SEND team members and partner ministries.
Terms: Long-Term (3+ years), Mid-Term (1 - 3 years)
Responsibilities:
- Live in a hub village in bush Alaska
- Participate in church planting efforts locally and regionally (e.g., leading Bible studies, mentoring youth, leading worship)
- Collaborate closely with SEND missionaries and partner ministries to promote the Gospel (e.g., flying kids to Bible camp)
- Fly SEND aircraft following standard operating procedures and FARs for mission purposes
- Support and encourage other missionaries through direct contact and logistical assistance
Qualifications:
- Commercial pilot certificate with instrument rating (Airplane Single Engine Land)
- Airframe and Powerplant certificate is valuable but not required
- Experience in Alaska and/or mountain flying is preferred but not required
- Bible training and direct ministry experience
- Youth and/or music ministry experience is a plus
- A deep desire to share the Gospel, help others grow in Christ, and establish groups of believers
- Willingness to work with believers from diverse denominational backgrounds
