Our client, a growing company, is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient AP Accountant to join their finance team. This position offers a hybrid work environment, with responsibilities that include overseeing the accounts payable (AP) processes, ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments, and supporting monthly close activities. The ideal candidate will have strong AP experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to implement process improvements.
Role Objective:
Manage accounts payable functions for assigned entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely vendor payments. Support the month-end close process, perform account reconciliations, and drive process improvements in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Operations:
- Process vendor invoices and expense reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Manage vendor payments, verify purchase orders, and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Reconcile vendor statements and maintain accurate AP records.
- Execute payment runs, handle petty cash, and ensure proper sales tax reporting.
- Collaborate with inventory control teams and vendors to address any concerns or discrepancies.
Month-End Close & Compliance:
- Record accounts payable transactions during the month-end close process.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and industry standards.
Collaboration & Process Improvement:
- Assist with audit preparation and respond to any accounts payable-related inquiries.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and streamline AP operations.
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of accounts payable experience, with a strong understanding of AP processes.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and ERP systems (e.g., AX, Concur).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and vendors.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and drive improvements
