AP/AR Specialist

Location: Drayton, SC

System One is seeking an experienced AP/AR Specialist to join its finance team. This individual will play a vital role in overseeing both accounts payable and receivable functions while supporting broader accounting and project financial operations. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in construction or a project-based industry who values accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

• Accurately process vendor invoices with proper coding and approvals

• Match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices

• Handle weekly payment processing including checks, ACH, and wires

• Monitor AP aging reports and resolve discrepancies with vendors

• Collect and track lien waivers and subcontractor compliance docs (W-9s, insurance, etc.)

Accounts Receivable

• Generate and issue customer invoices tied to project milestones

• Apply incoming payments to accounts and follow up on outstanding balances

• Collaborate with project managers to ensure billing accuracy

• Prepare aging reports and assist with collection efforts

General Accounting & Compliance

• Support month-end close activities, accruals, and reconciliations

• Maintain accurate documentation and support audit processes

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• Minimum 3 years in AP/AR roles; construction/project accounting background preferred

• Familiarity with AIA billing, lien laws, and job cost accounting

• Proficiency in accounting software 

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

• Detail-oriented with excellent time management and communication skills
