The Application Support Specialist will provide agency-wide IT/support services for all new and existing enterprise IT applications.

Responsibilities:
-Prepares end-user and IT related documentation; development of IT’s standard operating procedures.
-Coordinates efforts on site with and reports results to government manager
-Acts as a systems resource for all end-users and IT SLAs. Implement and conduct responsive methodology for enterprise support and maintenance.
-Regularly prepares market research for technical products and services
-Providing business analyses to better define opportunities for new or improved business solutions by keeping abreast of new developments in the broad field of information technology with a view to evaluating and recommending their possible application to OIG operations.
-Assists in the planning, setup, installation, testing, training, deployment in production and development environments.
-Documents, configures, and manages software implementation and updates
-Analyzes, evaluates, and tests software and hardware to provide issue/problem resolution.
-Installs, configures, and maintains commercial off-the-shelf products. Regularly prepares activity and progress reports regarding support activities.
-Enforces best practices for IT security, procedures, and compliance management
-Performing Helpdesk Support (IT) activities regarding applications support or Configurations Change -Board (CCB), software, applications, hardware, or other IT issues.
-The agent responds to customer requests, finds solutions, and resolves trouble calls for assistance to the helpdesk received via telephone, email, or through personal contact.
-Coordinating with other IT professionals both internally and externally to the Department as required to efficiently support OIG users.
-Participating with the IT leadership and other IT staff members in analyzing and making recommendations relating to the configuration of the OIG's information technology systems, equipment requirements, budgeting, software, and hardware specifications.
-Develops/maintains systems configurations and executes administration and operational duties on systems while maintaining data/information as required.

Qualifications:
Must have a Top Secret clearance
The Application Support Specialist has over 5 years of experience in the following:
-Demonstrated hands-on experience in IT service management and enterprise applications support within a Microsoft environment.
-Experience working in a Windows environment with Windows Server 2012 and 2016
-Experience working Windows HyperV and VMWare ESX
-Experience working with and supporting complete lifecycle for multi-tier COTS and GOTS applications
-Experience working with Application server software, IIS and Apache web servers
-Experience supporting applications based on PHP, .Net and other Microsoft web technologies
-Experience working with data analytics, Team auditing, ticketing (service desk) and custom coded applications
-Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server version 2012, 2014, 2016 and higher versions
-Experience Microsoft clustering services, Always on configurations
-Experience with managing MSSQL Server installations, patching, backups
-Experience with writing and debugging SQL queries for MS SQL databases
-Experience with writing and debugging PowerShell code and scripts
-Experience working in an active directory integrated environment

The Application Support Specialist must be familiar with following:
-With infrastructure as a service and platform as a service application in the Microsoft Azure environment
-With hosted MS SQL offerings in the Microsoft Azure environment
-With Microsoft Access based applications
-With Office 365 based applications such as Power BI, SharePoint, Forms, Planner, Teams and Power Automate
-With IT Service Management (ITIL)
-With SharePoint Designer use with SharePoint Online and SharePoint on-prem installations

Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal)
