 A Gallup applications security analyst:

  • Assures that Gallup’s developed applications and supporting systems are safe
  • Builds strong and collaborative relationships with colleagues
  • Collaborates with software architects, development leads and system administrators to provide recommendations on security enhancements
  • Owns projects, innovates and solves problems by working in multiple security disciplines on the latest cutting-edge platforms and technology
  • Relies on their strong attention to detail, strategic thinking, self-starter attitude and expertise in technology security to keep Gallup's applications, systems and data secure

We don’t have all the red tape other organizations do when it comes to getting things done. We work side by side with software application teams to find vulnerabilities before the hackers do and change course when necessary. Every day may look different, but the objective is always the same — to protect Gallup’s applications, systems and data.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with lead developers, application and system owners to implement security best practices, address risks and provide mitigation recommendations
  • Pen testing/ethical hacking of applications, systems and networks; network/system forensics; security auditing; and security architecture
  • Continuous monitoring of cloud applications, systems, databases and networks using SIEM tools
  • Assisting in troubleshooting and solving a wide variety of security issues
  • Serving as security adviser for the application and systems team

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, MIS, information assurance or related field (or the equivalent in education and experience) required
  • At least two years of web application security development experience
  • Experience programming/scripting using languages such as Python, Bash, Perl or PowerShell
  • Knowledge of security problems associated with modern web languages and frameworks, including but not limited to Python, Bash, Perl, PowerShell, JavaScript, Java and C#
  • Experience working with various cloud environments (e.g., AWS and Azure), coding standards, operating systems and databases
