Assistant Manufacturing Manager
he primary responsibility of this position is to work on the Plant floor, directly with the MFG Supervisors and Operators. An in-depth understanding of the process equipment and product line is essential to the career success of this position. A communicational skill with the ability to handle multiple objectives is necessary. An Assistant Manager serves as the major supervisor of the workplace. This position reports and is an extension of the Manufacturing Manager; the Assistant Manager serves as the overseer of the workplace in order to maintain the smooth operations of the office. It is also the role of an Assistant Manager to delegate tasks to employees under their command and when the Manager is not present in order to continue the operations of the workplace This position is responsible for ensuring that the Company and departmental goals are achieved, the development of performance of all the Team Leaders and Manufacturing Supervisors, managing production, and establishing priorities to meet or exceed customer’s expectations of a high Quality product shipped on time. Provides leadership and continuous improvement to both Prior and Latter Operations in the areas of; quality, cost/productivity, delivery and safety. Above all this position requires the utmost professional attitude which shows, by example that NAMI management is consistent and fair with a high degree of working integrity.
List of Key Tasks:
• Support and aid Production Manager by maintaining excellent communication with the Manufacturing Manager; actively supports theinvestigation and improvement of all Safety devices, procedures, and equipment; lead the MFG efforts to improve process techniques and employee production Quality; daily follow-up of machine Targets and product Quality – understanding the deep reasons for under-achievement, work to identify and improve deficiencies; High focus on Quality of our Safety related Brake Products; maintain effective results from the Kanban System as the Responsible Leader; overseeing the performance of all the MFG Operators Identifying training needs, and ensuringproper training is provided; maintain accurate daily Operator productivity through Supervisor daily shift reports; foreseeing potential problems before they happen; understand the production goals and achieving them; work together with other departments to determine root cause of rejects and customer complaints and support the decision to implement the necessary Corrective Action; acting as interface between MFG Manager and the production staff; providing training opportunities to the production Operators and Leadership staff; encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact based problem solving; assure that all employee grievances are addressed in a timely and professional fashion; work to establish management practices throughout assigned areas which include all employees’ positive involvement with opportunity for constructive input and action; and performs all other duties as requested and assigned by the Manufacturing Manager.
Education / Certifications:
• Associate's Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering/Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
