Assistant Production Supervisor

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:


Will lead all production, quality, production efficiency, employee performance, safety, and housekeeping of the production department. All work assignments are issued to he employees by the Production Supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments. Ensure schedule alignment;employees are present at the beginning of the shift and working on correct machines.
  • Balance quality, productivity, safety and morale to achieve positive results. Work to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Supervise departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provide regular progress reports to production supervisor.
  • Facilitate cross training.
  • Resolve employee issues through problem solving.
  • Spend the majority of the time on the production floor.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop orders and work instructions.
  • Perform simple mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide).  
  • Use hand & power tools, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and pneumatic tools. 
  • Work as a part of a team.
  • Work at a fast pace in a assembly environment.
  • Make every effort to focus on doing-it-right to make sure the customer is happy or satisfied with our units.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to lift 15-30 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs periodically. 
  • Must be able to assist others in 2 person lifting requirements up to 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, crawl, climb or bend for up to 8 hours.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a Manufacturing/Quality field.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing process.
  • Mechanical assembly skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
