Assistant Store Manager

JOB SUMMARY

To assist Store Manager and Manager In Training with recruiting, hiring, training, and managing store personnel to achieve store and personal sales goals, control expenses, and to protect company assets.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Meet and exceed store and personal sales goals and standards of performance
  2. Assist in recruiting and hiring of high caliber employees with in-store needs
  3. Assist in training and developing a successful sales team
  4. Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees by enforcing all company policies and practices
  5. Ensure that all company initiatives are properly implemented and to the standard of the company direction
  6. Recognize talented staff and develop them for growth within the company
  7. Supervise and manage all aspects of daily store operations in Store Manager and Manager In Training’s absence
  8. Supervise and manage all aspects of Loss Prevention practices in Store Manager and Manager In Training’s absence
  9. Effectively communicate all store needs to Store Manager and Manager In Training
  10. Resolve customer issues effectively
  11. Provide a fun, full service experience to all customers
  12. Understand the Journeys culture and demonstrate it to the team
  13. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  14. Desire to succeed in fast-paced retail environment
  15. Willingness to learn
  16. Completion of all training programs leading up to Co-Manager position or equivalent training
  17. Ability to work 45 hours per week
  18. Ability to work night and weekend shifts
  19. Ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
  20. Stand for long periods of time
  21. Must be at least 18 years of age*
