Job Description:

The Assistant Manager at The Golf Mart is responsible for promoting and maintaining a store culture consistent with Worldwide Golf’s values, including the “Sure No Problem” philosophy, which focuses on putting the customer first and ensuring a memorable and positive customer experience.

The Assistant Manager executes the day-to-day plans and strategies developed by the Store Manager and shares ownership of creating a positive golf store experience. Responsibilities Include:

• Maintain strong knowledge of all golf products and ensure employees can educate customers on all offerings.

• Control shrink and expenses while ensuring the sales floor is adequately stocked & signed, and products are displayed to brand presentation standards.

• Ensure execution of all visual merchandising programs, modules, and direction while implementing floor moves and display maintenance.

• Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures through regular management meetings, store walk-throughs, and audits.

• Monitor company communication tools daily and adjust schedules to execute workload as needed.

• Become a Golf Mart brand ambassador in the local community, making key external relationships and partnerships in the golf industry.

• Respond to negative customer experiences by de-escalating situations and making things right for the customer, using feedback to coach employees.

• Help employees grow their careers and golf skill set by identifying additional opportunities for growth.

• Recognize and suggest ways to improve processes.

Qualifications Desired:

• 2+ years of retail management experience or experience in the golf industry is required.

• A strong golf background is preferred but not required if the candidate has extensive retail management experience.

Requirements:

• Have a working knowledge of POS register systems and word-processing, spreadsheet, inventory, internet, and order processing systems.

• Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret business reports and correspondence effectively, presenting that information with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

• Ability to freely access all areas of the store, including sales floor, stock area, and register area, by standing, walking, stooping, crawling, climbing, crouching, kneeling, and lifting and/or moving up to 35 pounds at any given time.

• Work varied hours/days as business dictates.

This is a full-time position.

Compensation:
*The pay range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 per year, with quarterly bonuses based on store sales. Individual starting pay may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
