Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation Technician to support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations by providing hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance of automation systems and production equipment. This role will be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting critical filling operations within a GMP-regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
- Diagnose and address equipment failures, control system alarms, instrumentation issues, and process disruptions.
- Support aseptic and pharmaceutical filling operations by maintaining and optimizing equipment performance.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of safety circuits, instrumentation circuits, sensors, transmitters, motors, VFDs, and control panels.
- Monitor automation system performance and identify opportunities for increased reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to quickly resolve production issues.
- Support preventative maintenance activities and assist with system improvements and upgrades.
- Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with GMP, safety, and site procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-based automation and control systems.
- Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, or aseptic manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation, sensors, transmitters, motors, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
- Experience troubleshooting safety circuits and instrumentation circuits.
- Hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation platforms.
- Experience working with ControlLogix PLC systems.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
