We have a position available for a Technician at our Extremely Busy  Plano location. With locations in both Georgia, Texas, and soon-to-be Tennessee we are the largest independently owned European Repair Shop in the United States. We have been in business since 1980. Because of COVID-19, the business landscape will be changing for the automotive industry. Many Mom and Pop Shops will not be able to weather the storm. We have survived the Stock Market Crash 1987, Dot Com Crash 2000, Two Gulf Wars, and the Real Estate Crash 2008. These times were challenging, but we saw our business grow immediately following these events. Our company is positioning itself for the largest growth since we were founded. 

We are not franchised. The Owner Bob Saladna started repairing cars out of his mother's garage in 1979 and opened his first shop in 1980, and he still runs the company today. ESC understands that each shop needs the latest and best diagnostic equipment, which is why we have multiple diagnostic platforms at each location. We also have internal and external tech support We also provide on-site and offsite technical training on the latest automotive technology and diagnosis strategies. We also understand that each shop location is slightly different which is why we allow each manager flexibility to manage their location differently. We are looking for talented automotive mechanics to join our growing company. The individual in this role will be responsible for servicing and repairing European cars. We are seeking a candidate with a solid background in automotive repair, as well as experience with electronic system diagnostics. We provide all the diagnostic equipment Autologic, AutoLand, Autel, DAS, ISTA, and more. This shop has the latest 4 wheel camera alignment equipment from Hunter, a top-of-the-line Hunter tire mounter and balancer. This is a climate-controlled shop.

Auto Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Examine cars based on customer requests and/or concerns.
  • Perform basic maintenance including rotating tires, checking fluid levels, and changing the oil.
  • Repair or replace worn parts and systems such as spark plugs, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel systems, and sensors.
  • Test systems and individual parts to ensure the proper working order and/or to evaluate the degree of damage.
  • Follow checklists to ensure a thorough examination of all parts and systems.
  • Identify mechanical and electrical problems with both computerized diagnostic equipment and the naked eye.
  • Determine appropriate repair measures based on research, peer-to-peer examination, and past experience.
  • Perform repairs thoroughly and accurately, taking into account original repair strategy and customer specifications.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction at all times.

Auto Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications:
  • ASE certification required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of a postsecondary program in automotive service technology a plus.
  • Experience with electronic systems maintenance and repair preferred.
  • Experience in engine performance preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Certification in a related field from a vocational school a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication skills (will be expected to relay auto repair information to customers and other mechanics).
  • Detail-oriented and thorough, organized.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Mechanically and analytically minded.
