This is a part-time AVID Tutor position at Canton Middle School, available ASAP and open until filled.
The tutor provides support to students in the AVID program by working under a classroom teacher to facilitate small group instruction, tutorials, and collaborative learning activities. Responsibilities include evaluating student binders, assisting with writing and note-taking, and serving as a positive role model to promote college readiness.
Qualifications include a high school diploma (college students or degree preferred), tutoring experience, strong math and English skills, effective communication, organizational ability, and the capacity to work well with middle and high school students.
The role involves physical demands such as prolonged sitting or standing and occasional lifting or bending. It offers up to 15 hours per week at an hourly rate of $15.10, with hours varying based on site needs.
