Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee day-to-day operations of the bakery department to ensure smooth and efficient execution
  • Supervise, train, and develop bakery team members while maintaining a positive and productive work environment
  • Plan production schedules, staffing, and department workflow to meet customer demand
  • Deliver excellent customer service, including assisting customers, answering questions, and promoting bakery products
  • Maintain product quality and freshness by monitoring baked goods and display standards
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations
  • Manage inventory, including ordering ingredients and supplies and maintaining accurate records
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bakery area, including displays and backroom
  • Support sales growth through merchandising, sampling, and product promotion initiatives

Abilities:

  • Ability to operate bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, and slicers
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and company procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including flexible scheduling (early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays)

Other requirements:

  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods
  • Compliance with company policies, including grooming and workplace conduct standards
  • Ability to work in a temperature-controlled retail environment with occasional exposure to varying conditions
