Overview: A seasoned leader with vision to create and execute short and long term Omni merchandising strategies and seasonal line structure plans by Dept to build profitable assortments that will maximize Sales and GM $ goals. The central role of Buyer/Merchant is to lead the brand and category strategy with cross functional partners in planning, design, eComm site merchandising, visual and outside vendors


+ Create Line Structure - develop a line plan for basic and seasonal product for both eComm and B&M assortments 4x year to support key brand initiatives and financial targets

+ Rationalize Sku productivity and new ideas to drive growth, leveraging true demand and buy distortion analytics for assortment depth vs breadth

+ Create and develop merchandise strategy and assortment mix for Accessories; assort final product line for Retail and Wholesale in partnership with Design, Outside Vendors and/or Product Development/Sourcing, setting MSRP’s to deliver cost and margin goals

+ Develop and manage product development and retail calendars specific to Accessories; support all key brand and channel milestone meetings

+ Lead approval process for all product external submits including art, fabric, color trim, material and wash

+ Initiate new packaging and partner with marketing teams to develop/approve all product hangtags, collateral on external product, and in-store marketing

+ Review business performance weekly, incorporating style reviews to understand trends, customer response and competitive landscape to identify white space and future growth opportunities

+ Plan buy units, delivery flows, and promotional cadence for each style by channel in the assortment that supports the seasonal budget goals. Use assortment planning tool to roll-up each buy and create orders.

+ Collaborate with planning on building seasonal and annual merchandise plans by business unit/category/sub department to present to Leadership teams during quarterly buy review

+ Effectively manage in season sales and inventory, weekly allocation reviews, weekly markdown projections, promotional cadences and liquidation of clearance, inventory sharing by channel and rigorous pricing strategies by channel.

+ Marketing/Visual Merchandising - collaborate with both teams to develop seasonal marketing/event plans; including email and direct mail content/pricing. Coordinate effective presentations of product in stores by creating and coordinating blue prints for all major floor sets and key sales events

+ Maintain close relationship with Ecommerce Site merchandising team to ensure seamless and consistent product assortment, copy and promotional strategies. Partner with site team to merchandise area of responsibility, manage pricing messages, and sign off on the site for each campaign

+ Coach and develop direct report(s) to be effective in their current roles and to prepare them to take on greater responsibility

+ Manage Assistant and/or Associate Buyer/Merchants


Required Experience:


+ Bachelor’s degree required

+ 4-7 years buying Experience, fashion merchandising, business or marketing degree

+ Excellent communication and management skills, analytical comprehension, must possess ability to persuade, influence and build consensus among all parties

+ Proficiency and knowledge of retail math and analytics, merchandising principles, product knowledge

+ Strong aesthetic point of view and the ability to translate to our brands

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, previous experience using Tableau Analytics preferred
