What are we looking for in a Case Manager?
In this position, Case Managers provide stabilization, case management, and supportive counseling to clients who are referred by law enforcement to the Behavioral Health Diversion program. Case Managers on the Diversion team work with individuals who are considered to be at high risk of re-offending to help connect clients to necessary treatment and social services. The Case Manager will coordinate the client’s intake assessments, ensure they are enrolled in services with an appropriate team, and then assist with keeping the client engaged with treatment. To be successful in this role, Case Managers must enjoy variety in their day, possess exceptional communication skills, and be able to solve problems creatively. The ability to work effectively with multiple internal and external partners is essential. This is a full time position in our Walla Walla clinic with a schedule of Sunday-Wednesday 7am-6pm.

Case Manager duties may include:

  • coordinating referrals, intake, treatment, and engagement for clients in the Behavioral Health Diversion program
  • providing input regarding treatment and discharge planning for clients
  • answering emergent calls from clients and providing referral information, and following up with crisis staff and the client as appropriate
  • coordinating services & communication between agencies, monitoring clients, assisting with transportation, and providing other case management
  • collaborating with law enforcement, corrections staff, Comprehensive staff, and community resources to effectively meet the needs each client
  • making participation & progress reports to the courts as required
  • assessing clients for safety and risk to self or others, and taking appropriate crisis intervention measures when indicated
  • completing all documentation in a respectful, client-centered manner


  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field
  • Bilingual English & Spanish highly preferred
  • Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor
  • Must have valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance
