The University of St. Thomas (UST), a private Catholic University committed to the liberal arts and the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, located in Houston, Texas, near the vibrant central business district, Texas Medical Center, and museum district, is seeking applicants for a full-time Open Rank Professor position in the Department of Communication. This position reports directly to the Division Dean of Social and Behavioral Sciences and Global Studies.


Position begins August 2022.

To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a doctorate in Journalism/Public Relations or Mass Communication and possess experience in department-level academic administration. The successful candidate must also demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset with regard to programmatic and curricular innovation, community outreach, and cross-campus collaboration.

Expertise in digital media is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success and dedication to undergraduate and graduate teaching and advising, an active research agenda, professional engagement with the industry, and experience securing and supervising internships.
