Claims Manager

Reports To: Vice President of Risk Management

Essential Functions:

1. Oversee the day-to-day handling of General Liability and Workers’ Compensation claims from first notice through resolution.
2. Lead, coach, and develop 1-2 direct reports within the claims team, ensuring alignment with departmental goals.
3. Partner with TPAs and internal stakeholders to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate claims.
4. Monitor claim progression and ensure timely reporting, reserving accuracy, and adherence to corporate strategy.
5. Assist in the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies to reduce future claims.
6. Contribute to the broader success of the Risk Management Department by supporting training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Education and Experience:

1. 10+ years of experience managing General Liability and Workers’ Compensation claims in the field of multifamily housing.
2. Experience with Riskonnect IRMS highly preferred.
3. Strong understanding of TPA management, legal processes, and insurance best practices.
4. Prior experience supervising multiple team members.
5. Exceptional organizational and time management abilities with keen attention to detail.
