The Job

As a Client Manager, you will ensure resources are utilized efficiently and clients’ needs are met in a timely matter. This client-facing role focuses on team leadership, client relationship management, strategy development, and project management related to client recruiting needs.


One minute, you could be consulting a global beverage company’s HR team about their Sr. Protein Scientist role, and in the next, you’ll be speaking with a highly influential health organization’s Director of Talent Acquisition about a lucrative Director of Clinical Bioinformatics role! There are a variety of roles to fill for our clients, in healthcare, manufacturing, IT and many more! This creates a dynamic work environment, that keeps you on your toes. As you will have many clients in a variety of industries, it is your responsibility to research the role and become a subject matter expert to be consultative with your clients. The Ideal Candidate

It is critical that you can balance project management with positive client relationships. You will be the client’s main point of contact for support, so excellent communication skills are a must. Outstanding service, prompt support, and timely project completion will result in a great client experience. 


You will need to be detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to accept constructive feedback. Clients may have strong objections or suggestions, and you will have to manage their expectations and recommend solutions. A great Client Manager knows they have a huge responsibility for Velocity’s own success, and proactively finds innovative and effective ways to expand client relationships. 


Other Essential Duties (not necessarily in order of importance):

  • Consult with clients as strategy driver in the development of sourcing strategies
  • Manage, prioritize, and respond to client needs in a way that demonstrates expertise, efficiency, and commitment
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements
  • Submit progress reports to stakeholders and senior managers
  • Help source qualified candidates using active and passive job boards 
  • Review resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience, and knowledge in relation to position requirements
  • Comply and adhere to all Velocity’s policies and procedures


Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 3+ years of recruiting experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge in recruiting components including, but not limited to, sourcing, qualifying, networking, assessing candidates, and relationship management. 
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communications skills
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention-to-detail, and multi-tasking skills 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Good facilitation and analytical skills
