About This Role:
We have an opening on the Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (KSVDL) team! The KSVDL and Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology (DMP), College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University is seeking a seasoned, enthusiastic, collaborative, and team-oriented individual with a keen focus on relevant, timely, accurate diagnostic results. We have an opening for Clinical-Track faculty team member at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor that requires a doctorate degree (PhD/DVM/MD/DO) with training in a relevant discipline and management/supervisory experience. The primary responsibility of the position is to provide oversight to the Molecular Diagnostic Service Laboratory in the KSVDL. Duties will primarily include 70-80% directed service and 20-30% research/teaching. The molecular service section performs a high-volume and variety of PCR tests for many species as well as testing for the National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN). Most of the service component will be filled by overseeing the molecular service section team, diverse testing, and client needs. To meet turnaround time for clients this section is staffed 6 days a week and will require variable weekend hours by the section head. The KSVDL is an AAVLD accredited veterinary diagnostic laboratory.
