Communications Engineer - On Call Services
We are seeking a skilled Communications Engineer to design, implement, and maintain communication systems with a focus on access controls and emergency communications. The ideal candidate will oversee the development of communication networks, ensuring efficiency, security, and readiness for emergency situations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
- Proven 6 years' experience working with communication systems, protocols, and technologies within rail and transit.
- Familiarity with access controls and emergency communication protocols.
- Proficiency in analyzing and troubleshooting network issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing communication systems, including access controls for secure network access.
- Developing emergency communication protocols and procedures to ensure effective response in critical situations.
- Conducting network performance tests, troubleshooting issues, and implementing emergency controls.
- Collaborating with other engineers to integrate communication systems with existing infrastructure while prioritizing security and emergency preparedness.
- Providing technical support and guidance to end-users on access control and emergency communication systems.
- Staying up-to-date with advances in communication technology, access controls, and emergency communications best practices.
Multiple locations in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
Main office located at WMATA New Carrollton Rail Yard, 4100 Garden City Drive, Washington DC.
Salary Range: $41.82 - $54.32 HR
