Responsibilities of the Construction Accounts Payable Clerk:
The Construction Accounts Payable Clerk will:
- Check and approve vouchers for payment.
- Prepare invoice deduction notices as necessary.
- Answer vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships.
- Manage lien waivers and notice to owners.
- Process subcontractor pay applications and handle certificates of insurance.
- Analyze vendor accounts and negotiate extended payment terms when cash is restricted.
- Prepare and issue accounts payable checks.
- Print and file all accounts payable reports and maintain related files.
- Conducted account analyses and assisted with monthly closings.
- Support the accounts receivable process and take on special projects as assigned.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Construction industry experience (required).
- 2–3 years of accounts payable experience, ideally in a Construction Accounts Payable Clerk role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
