NOVA operates differently from a typical GC, blending resourcefulness, creativity, and an understanding of ever-changing tenant requirements. Team members are exposed to most construction divisions within a project instead of being siloed, creating a fast-paced, hands-on learning environment. NOVA uses industry-leading tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and modern digital bid platforms.
Position Overview:
The Construction Estimator will support the preconstruction and operations teams by preparing detailed estimates and proposals for industrial and commercial interior buildouts. This role is ideal for someone with 2–5 years of estimating experience who wants exposure to complex TI scopes, repeat developer clients, and fast-track schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for all CSI divisions.
- Develop conceptual and schematic budgets using limited design information.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify scope gaps and cost risks.
- Lead subcontractor outreach, organize bid invites, and manage RFI responses during the bid phase.
- Level bids and analyze subcontractor proposals for scope completeness and competitiveness.
- Work with project managers to develop value-engineering options and alternate pricing.
- Assist in preparing proposal packages, clarifications, and project-specific assumptions.
- Maintain and update historical cost data, unit pricing, and subcontractor database.
- Coordinate with field teams to reconcile budgets with actual costs.
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience as a construction estimator (GC or subcontractor), preferably in industrial or commercial TI.
- Strong proficiency in reading construction plans and specifications across multiple trades.
- Experience with Bluebeam and Excel; experience with digital bid platforms is a plus.
- Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management software is helpful.
- Solid understanding of subcontractor scopes, means and methods, and market pricing.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines at once.
Benefits:
- Health, dental, and vision insurance options available.
- Car allowance.
- Phone allowance.
- Exposure to repeat clients and major industrial TI projects across South Florida.
- Growth path toward Senior Estimator or Preconstruction Manager roles.
Work Authorization & Location:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; NOVA is not able to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
This is an on-site position. Candidates must already reside in the South Florida area and be able to reliably commute to the Coral Gables office and job sites; relocation assistance is not available.
