WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Construction Manager based out of our Antioch, California office.

This position will work at project/client sites supporting projects for the San Francisco Airport. This person will serve as the on-site technical representative for the inspection of Contractor construction activities, daily coordination with the Contractor and other entities, and recommending acceptance of and payment for the Contractor's completed work. This person is responsible for construction management functions, including construction quality compliance and progress evaluation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Monitors contractor performance and daily activities, including reporting contractual issues

+ Evaluates the project progress schedule and cost control, project coordination, change order control, and data recording and reporting

+ Directs the project team staff for technical and administrative tasks and efforts; manages all aspects of the project team's administrative needs

+ Assists with constructability reviews and informs Program Manager and SFO Project Manager of all issues that arise (as appropriate)

+ Coordinates construction inspection activities with SFO Maintenance, BICE, Airport PM, designers, and others

+ Interfaces with the CM Quality Coordinator on all quality issues and verifies that the work site is in full compliance with FAA Part 139 as applicable

+ Reviews Inspector's Daily Reports (IDRs) and Daily Construction Reports (DCRs) to ensure accuracy

+ Leads efforts for project documentation and communication distribution of contractors' correspondence, RFIs, submittals, etc.

+ Performs required pay item calculations and computations; also measures quantities for progress payments and validates pay item quantities per acceptance of work and contract specifications

+ Performs other duties as needed

# Job Requirements


Minimum Qualifications:

+ B.S. or B.A. Degree, preferably with a concentration/major in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or another directly-relevant field

+ A minimum of ten (10) years of construction and engineering experience, including five (5) years of experience in a Construction Manager or directly-related role

+ Proactive work style

+ Ability to work independently and take initiatives to perform tasks (or delegate to qualified staff as appropriate)

+ Ability to communicate with project team, staff, or others

+ Strong written and interpersonal communication skills

+ Excellent organizational and time management skills

+ Strong detail orientation

+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

+ Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.

Required knowledge:

+ Strong working knowledge of construction management

+ Working experience with MS Office Suite applications (particularly MS Word, Excel, and Power Point), Primavera P6, and other relevant database programs/software

+ Working knowledge of lime in soil, PCC, CTPB, ATPB, airfield lighting systems, and fiber optic cabling

+ Strong understanding of how Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) works within a project schedule

+ Understanding of the importance of sustainability and ability to recognize opportunities to capitalize on the same

Preferred Qualifications

+ Current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in CA, but not required

+ Aviation and /or facilities experience (relevant to the AEC industry)

+ Working proficiency in the use of tablet technology to produce required project documentation
