We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. As an established general contractor in the construction industry, we prioritize financial accuracy, strategic planning, and effective communication. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

As a Controller, you will be expected to:

1. Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
2. Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with President, COO and CFO concerning strategic planning.
3. Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations.
4. Identify, develop and execute analysis of business initiatives, product launches and/or new service offerings.
5. Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
6. Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
7. Coordinate all audit activity.
8. Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the organization’s financial status.
9. Assist the organization's leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline. CPA or MBA preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Experience with Sage 300 software
4. Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
5. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP).
6. Ability to strategize and solve problems.
7. Strong leadership and organizational skills.
8. Excellent communication and people skills.
9. An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
