The Controller is a full-time, exempt position responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, investing, auditing, and reporting for Catholic Cemeteries.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the role involves developing financial policies, internal controls, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and diocesan frameworks. Key duties include managing budgets, financial statements, cash flow, audits, tax filings, and internal controls. The Controller also provides financial analysis, staff training, and strategic input, supporting organizational goals and risk management.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, at least 10 years of supervisory accounting experience, preferably CPA, with expertise in GAAP, tax codes, and financial software. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
Travel is approximately 10% local and 5% overnight.
