We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Cost Accounting Manager to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong accounting skills, an analytical mindset, and a desire to drive continuous improvement within our organization. The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the fixed assets, inventory, and cost of goods sold (COGS). This individual will also lead the ERP implementation and monthly reporting, as well as manage the annual budgeting process.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results.
- Manage the fixed assets and inventory, including tracking, valuation, and reporting.
- Lead the ERP implementation, ensuring the system is optimized to meet the needs of the business.
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports to internal stakeholders, providing insight into financial performance and trends.
- Develop and manage the annual budget, working closely with department heads to align budget with strategic objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement in cost accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency and automation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, managing internal and external audits as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
- Utilize tools such as Oracle, PowerBI, and JDE ERP to analyze and report on financial data.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. MBA or CPA preferred. CMA is also preferred.
- Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, particularly related to fixed asset and inventory accounting.
- Experience with ERP implementation and management, preferably with JDE ERP and AS400.
- Proficiency in Oracle and PowerBI.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven experience in managing the end-to-end annual budgeting process.
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement, with a track record of driving process improvements in a cost accounting function.
- Experience in managing internal and external audits.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
