Title: Customer Service Attendant
Location: Various County Parks
Work schedule/hours: 30 hours per week (mostly late afternoon, nights, and weekends)
Pay: $10 + benefit options, paid time off and holiday pay
MUST be able to pass criminal background, drug testing and MVR check
Contract position with reSOURCE Government Services
This is a skilled position that focuses on providing customer service through the assigned areas and may involve: opening/closing facilities, setting up and breaking down of events and activities, cash handling and processing customer transactions, deliveries, selling camp and birthday party packages, customer service in golf course operations, concession stands, waterpark, recreation facilities, and athletics, monitoring assigned recreation activities and facility usage, performing minor maintenance and custodial duties, and other general parks and recreation support activities . Incumbent will be assigned to the selected area at the discretion of the department, based on the needs of the department and/or season in the year. Incumbents are expected to be cross-trained in one or more areas of assignment. Work is reviewed through employee observation, facility inspection written and oral reports.
In the event of a natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee may be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
Customer Service Attendants assigned to Recreation and Recreational Facilities perform the following duties:
Open and closes recreational facilities, prepares facilities and equipment for public use, report any problems to supervisor.
Assists in set up, implementation and break down of events and activities.
Monitors scheduled activities, ensures programs are conducted as scheduled, report any facility maintenance, safety, incidents or property damage to supervisor.
Assist with facility cleaning/light maintenance and custodial duties.
Perform courier runs to County park locations according to departmental procedures, delivers, sorts, loads and unloads materials, supplies, and equipment to and from a delivery vehicle.
Prepares reports, sets up game play, monitors operational procedures pertaining to recreational programming.
Conducts clerical work such as inspections, managing office, maintaining files and records, completing accident/incident reports.
Ensures equipment and facilities are clean, safe, and in proper working condition and reports damaged or unsafe equipment to supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Experience with recreation activities, special events, sports or sporting events, public service, or related field preferred.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of cashiering, business math, computers, and software applications.
Knowledge of proper telephone etiquette and procedures.
Knowledge of the operational and maintenance requirements of the equipment utilized in the facility to which assigned.
Knowledge of rules, regulations, and safety precautions related to recreational programming and vehicle operation.
Knowledge of rules, regulations, and safety precautions related to recreational activities.
Knowledge of the techniques and equipment of grounds and preparing ball fields for sports activities preferred.
Ability to make rapid and accurate math computations, reconcile money/accounts and maintain records.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and co-workers.
Ability to operate cash registers, computers, adding machines, and other office equipment.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service to all ages, including interaction with children, adults, the elderly and persons with special needs.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
Ability to assist in special events and swim meets as needed.
Ability to perform clerical duties and have the ability to perform monetary transactions.
Ability to write simple correspondence, respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, service vendors, coaches, local businesses or other staff members.
Ability to maintain facilities clear of safety hazards.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must possess a High School Diploma or an acceptable equivalent and prior customer service including experience in a recreational setting.
Additional qualifying education and/or experience which provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted one for the other on a year for year basis.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License
Position may require first aid/CPR certification to be obtained within the first 6 months of hire and maintain same certifications as a condition of continued employment.
