The firm’s Consumer business, Marcus by Goldman Sachs, combines the entrepreneurial spirit of a startup with more than 150 years of experience. Today, we serve millions of customers across multiple products including lending, deposits, financial tools, and our partnership with Apple on Apple Card. We use innovative design, data, engineering and other core capabilities to provide customers with powerful tools and products that are grounded in value, transparency and simplicity. As we build a leading digital consumer bank and expand into new products and partnerships, we are looking for leaders and individual contributors to join our team.

 

Your Impact

As a VP, Head of Fraud Product Management, you will research new fraud risk capability, align the organization on development and implementation strategy for new capabilities, and collaborate cross-functionality to drive the implementation and scalability of said capabilities in order to enhance customer experience, improve security standards and impact the bottom line for the Goldman Sachs consumer business. The candidate will perform market research, analysis, build business cases, define product requirements, and engineer processes.  The candidate will work closely with technology, product and operations teams to identify ways to enhance fraud infrastructure, tools and processes to enable a secure and seamless experience for our customers while managing fraud losses and addressing existing and emerging fraud trends.

  • Knowledge of the risk vendor space
  • Ability to communicate effectively and present to senior leadership
  • Ability to collaboration in a team environment
  • Strong commitment and work ethic with emphasis on ownership
  • Previous Fraud risk experience

Job Summary and Responsibilities

  • Design fraud risk capabilities and solutions to provide industry leading fraud protection and exceptional customer experience, at the right margin.
  • Obtain approval for implementation of proposed solutions from Risk, Business and Technology leadership
  • Drive cross-functional requirements gathers and alignment for risk solutions
  • Establish appropriate documentation best practices for ongoing evolution, maintenance and support of products
  • Work directly with the Fraud Strategy leadership team responsible for design of fraud capabilities
  • Research and remain current on the latest industry fraud trends and recommend tools, services, and practices for improvement
  • Identify and develop process improvements/automation to maximize efficiency of fraud detection/mitigation activities
  • Review, evaluate and drive selection of new vendors or technologies to enhance the fraud strategy and mitigate emerging risks

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience building fraud capabilities
  • Product management experience
  • Advanced quantitative/deductive reasoning skills
  • Hands on, self-motivated, quick-learner, assertive and well organized 
  • Ability to work independently, but still be a strong team player 
  • Previous experience in automation, process optimization and increasing efficiency 
  • Attention to details and excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Flexibility and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Experience with graph databases a plus
