Specific Responsibilities
- Director, Business Intelligence is responsible for defining the enterprise Business Intelligence and analytics strategy across all lines of business as well as for internal and external stakeholders.
- This role will define, manage and maintain analytics processes; policies for business and technical teams; and support the business in building analytics competencies.
- The role will creatively solve analytics problems, with an eye toward enterprise scale through simplicity, accuracy and automation.
- Build strong relationships with the business and partner with them to deliver, implement and support a data analytics operating model and tools.
- Learn and possess a deep understanding of the company's business models, data sources, and system infrastructure to design and implement the roadmap and guiding principles for a scalable reporting and analytics operating model.
- Analyze complex business needs presented by the end users and/or customers and synthesize value-added requirements and capabilities for development.
- Build strong relationships with Business partners and IT executive leadership to drive analytics strategy and tactical execution.
- Initiate and deliver programs that align IT with business strategies and provide a high degree of end user adoption.
- Ensure data/information integrity of reporting applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Promote and evangelize the value of BI and analytics to all levels of business units.
- Co-develop and maintain an aspirational enterprise data and technical architecture roadmap.
- Develop metrics and reports and communicate to executive leadership.
- Review new and existing program/project business requirements for analytics needs with a critical eye to not replicate application-level reporting.
- Continuously evaluate staff positions, responsibilities, and individuals for appropriate performance, skills, potential for improvement and growth.
- Mentor staff to improve skills, provide career growth, and ensure succession plans.
- Develop and effectively manage IT budgets and ensure budget adherence.
- Effectively negotiate with outside vendors and consultants as required.
- Use consultants judiciously to augment staff, and ensure cost-beneficial utilization.
- Stay abreast of leading-edge data technologies, services, and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in business analysis, information systems, or computer science required.
- 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience managing IT process re-engineering, analysis, development, testing and/or support functions.
- Demonstrated track record of hiring, developing, and managing IT talent, and building diverse, high-performing teams.
- Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
- Deep understanding and experience building and managing department budgets, forecasts and leading complex, large-scale vendor assessments through RFI/RFP/MSA/SOW negotiation.
- Experience leading an analytics solution, supporting multiple departments or business lines.
- Deep understanding of data models and analytics practices.
- Experience delivering various forms of data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical).
- Experience leading, or being a key contributor/collaborator through the implementation and support of an analytics operating model.
- Experience partnering with a Data Management solution; deep understanding of Master Data Management principles, architectures and patterns.
- Experience with multiple ERP and operations platforms to drive value-added analytics capabilities.
- Deep understanding and experience in the support and partnering with BI/Analytics business and IT stakeholders.
- Experience with Data Profiling and Data Quality best practices, methodology and thought leadership.
Salary Range: $150,000 - $190,000
The salary range provided represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need. Salary is only one component of the total rewards package offered at BGB Group.
