Insurance Placement Solutions has an immediate opening for a Director of Business Development with our client. In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and maintaining strong relationships with prospective clients. You will identify opportunities, market the company’s programs, and ensure sales goals, objectives, and profit margins are achieved. This is an onsite position, located in the Midwest, preferably in or around Chicago.

Director of Business Development Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and maintain key internal and external relationships/partnerships.
  • Build strong relationships with prospective clients and facilitate new business opportunities.
  • Oversee the implementation of new client programs, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of prospect operations to identify sales and marketing opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align resources and expertise to meet client needs.
  • Manage responses to RFPs, proposals, and presentations, leveraging national resources.
  • Design and oversee service programs that align with client objectives.
  • Develop and execute an annual sales and business strategy targeting potential clients.

Experience & Requirements

  • 2-4 years of sales experience in claims or adjacent industries (e.g., Marsh, Willis, Aon, Hub, Lockton).
  • Experience interfacing with external stakeholders, including trading partners, customers, and prospects.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a consultative sales approach.
  • Ability to think strategically and adapt to dynamic business environments.
  • Resilience and the ability to apply learned information effectively.
  • Familiarity with social media marketing strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Active listening and problem-solving abilities.

Location & Compensation

  • This is an onsite position in the Midwest, preferably in or around Chicago.
  • Salary Range: $120,000 – $150,000 plus bonus.
