We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Finance to lead our financial operations. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our company's growth and success. The Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. This role will also be responsible for strategic planning, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Finance will:
1. Develop and implement financial strategies for the organization, including long-term financial planning and projections.
2. Oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.
3. Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division and weekly cash flow by division.
4. Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
5. Implement and manage financial controlling processes and tools.
6. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
7. Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the executive director; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
8. Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
9. Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the board of directors.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field (MBA preferred).
2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position.
3. Proven experience with financial processes and systems such as AS400, JD Edwards, and Oracle.
4. Strong knowledge of data analysis, risk management, and forecasting methods.
5. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
8. Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting.
9. Skill in examining, developing, reengineering, and recommending financial policies and procedures.
10. Strong analytic skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
11. An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information.
12. A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality. Needs to be seen as a team player who is committed to lifelong learning.
13. A CPA or related qualification is highly desirable.
14. Experience in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies.
