Job description

Cypress Cove Nudist Resort seeks a service-minded Director of Food and Beverage / Food and Beverage Manager to fill a role on the resort management team. This HAND'S ON POSITION will oversee and direct the Food and Beverage operation and staff, and promote guest satisfaction in all areas of the F&B function.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Effectively monitor multiple food and beverage outlets, including providing support and guidance to fellow Food and Beverage personnel ensuring a successful and effective operation ending in a positive guest experience.
  • Plan and direct the functions of administration and planning of the Food and Beverage Department to meet the daily needs of operation.
  • Work with other departments within the resort to provide quality service to customers.
  • Continuously evaluate the performance and encourage improvement of the personnel in the food and beverage department. Plan and administer a training and development program within the department which will provide well-trained employees at all levels and permit advancement for those persons qualified and interested in career development. Oversee departmental matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws.
  • Regularly review and evaluate the degree of customer acceptance of the individual restaurant and bar service. Recommend to management new operating and marketing policies whenever declining or constant sales imply dissatisfaction by the customers, a material change in the make-up of the customer market, or a change in the competitive environment.

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined based upon the particular requirements of the resort:

  • Supervise support staff and provide ongoing training and support as necessary.
  • Plan and execute weekly food and beverage specials.
  • Conduct regular food and beverage inventory and orders.
  • Maintain good working relations with preferred vendors of the resort and ensure adherence to all codes and regulations.
  • Participate in china, glassware, silverware, linen, beer, wine, liquor, dry goods and perishable inventories as necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date information on program and food and beverage events.
  • Establish accurate par levels and inventory of supplies and equipment within the department.
  • Attend all department/resort meetings as necessary.
  • Maintain solid and open communications with all resort operating departments.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of principles and practices in the hospitality food and beverage profession to include management of people and beverage operations.
  • Minimum of five years food and beverage experience in a management capacity.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A track record of leading team to achieve goals and inspires and motivates team members to work together and achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills as well as an advanced knowledge of the personal computer.
  • A HAND's ON approach toward operational management to include rolling up your sleeves and applying a bit of "sweat equity" when and where needed.
