We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Operations to lead the operational transformation within our growing organization. This senior-level role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, implementing robust processes, and supporting strategic initiatives to accelerate our growth and solidify our market position. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in optimizing business operations within the insurance sector.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive framework for tracking, monitoring, and driving key business, sales, and operational metrics across the organization to ensure achievement of growth objectives.
  2. Leverage our internal systems and proprietary enterprise data platform to generate detailed reports and dashboards that provide comprehensive insights into business performance and operations, supporting strategic decision-making, operational efficiency, and long-term planning.
  3. Continuously evaluate existing business processes and implement optimizations, supported by technology and tooling configurations, to enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness throughout the organization.
  4. Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, staying abreast of changes that may impact the business.
  5. Collaborate with finance teams to develop, manage, and oversee departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and maintaining financial discipline across the organization.
  6. Lead the identification, adoption, and integration of new technologies or tooling functionalities, working with carriers and third-parties as needed, to improve operational efficiency and support data-driven decision-making.
  7. Assess tool utilization and gather employee feedback to identify training needs, developing targeted programs that enhance operational efficiency and upskill the workforce.
  8. Support the President to oversee and develop the PI team, including recruitment, training, and performance management, to ensure a high level of operational excellence.
  9. Manage relationships with key vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
  10. Act as a liaison between different departments to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure operational alignment across PI, MMS, and other group organizations.
  11. Conduct regular operational audits of both internal and client-facing operations to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to stay ahead of potential issues and enhance the overall client experience.
  12. Additional responsibilities as assigned to support the organization’s growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • College degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in business operations, systems optimization, or a similar role, within the insurance industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance brokering required.
  • Valid Property & Casualty, Life, Accident, & Health Licenses, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, agency management systems, and data analytics tools (preferably Power BI), with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and drive their adoption within the organization.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results to timeline.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder management.
  • Solid understanding of financial processes and ability to liaise with finance departments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with a team.
