Position Summary
This position is responsible for the efficient and cost-effective management of both our Houston and Sedalia warehouses and all logistics operations. This person will manage and oversee the entire logistics network, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution. Responsibilities will include material management, inventory control, campus material flow for shops, receiving, shipping support, and tool calibration. Strategic leadership of the warehouse and logistics teams, planning, execution, and continuous improvement. This position will report to the VP of Supply Chain Management.
Position Responsibilities
- Strategically plan and manage warehouse activities including receiving and distribution of products, parts or supplies for both internal and external customers/clients.
- Manage the supply of logistics-related data to support customers in the day-to-day general areas of engineering, supply, configuration management, technical requirements identification, installation and maintenance of equipment, safety, and documentation development and maintenance. Investigate potential risks and other matters of significance and provide and implement solutions.
- Consult with assigned clients to understand their distribution networks and determine the logistics resources required to support equipment, safety, personnel, and maintenance. Negotiate with supply sources to meet technical requirements.
- Analyze and evaluate design concepts and integration support requirements to determine if concepts satisfy support requirements. Implement, monitor, and adjust solutions to ensure the integration of support considerations as needed.
- Challenge logistics and warehousing service providers to improve cost and services along the value chain.
- Assess current and future demands and negotiate required services as deemed necessary.
- Benchmark best industry standards for adoption.
- Serve as liaison with all internal and external partners for daily operational activities.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for warehouse and logistic operations.
- Develop and manage warehouse KPIs aligning with standard operating procedures.
- Maintain and drive a culture of safety and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Lead and manage a team of warehouse and logistics professionals.
- Manage and control warehouse and logistics budgets.
- Design, assess, and implement new strategies and initiatives based on industry best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate warehousing with company processes.
- Ensure company policy, system, and industry-related training is completed and documented.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve all customer service issues in an expeditious and cost-effective manner ensuring continued quality.

- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field or a minimum of 10/15 years of warehousing and logistics experience.

- Up to 15-20% travel is possible.
- Technical competence in reading and understanding loading schemes, technical drawings, method statements, etc. as deemed necessary.

- Successful candidates will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to include management of multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
- Experienced in Logistics and Warehousing transformation projects.
- Proficient in the use of various MS Office Suite programs.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Ability to perform research, compile and analyze data, and write clear, concise, and accurate reports on complex subjects.
