As aControls and Instrumentation Technician, you’ll be responsible forinstallation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant instrumentation and controls equipmentto support building and manufacturing operations.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

+ Maintain, troubleshoot and repair control systems and instrumentation including a variety of flow, pressure, temperature, pH and water quality monitoring equipment

+ Responsible for completing preventative and corrective maintenance along with maintaining electronic records in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

+ Understand process equipment, operating parameters and make decisions with engineering support to improve or maintain the associated controls and instrumentation hardware & software.

+ Develop and review operations and maintenance procedures/programs with the team to ensure use of best practices

+ Influence supplier performance via supervision and audits of work performed in the field

+ Drive maintenance efficiency by reviewing recommended maintenance procedures/job plans to ensure best practices are in place and documented properly. Manage CM’s, PM’s, Event Manager Tasks, and other work as required.

+ Work with engineers in updating and maintaining Sequences of Operations (SOOs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other related documentation for their system.

+ Assist in the development/implementation of cost savings projects and execution of programs targeted to improve quality, reliability and operational effectiveness of systems and services.

+ Work with external suppliers to acquire quotes, enter purchase requisitions and coordinate work to support controls and instrumentation on each system.

+ Ensure all work complies with TI ESH and applicable codes and standards, including but not limited to work permits, building permits, confined space permits, burn permits, etc.

+ Be available to provide technical support for the 24-hour operations team, including willingness to handle call-in situations.

Qualifications

Required experience, knowledge and skills:

+ High school diploma/GED with 5 years of relevant experience or 2 years of experience with an Associate's Degree.

+ Understanding of instrumentation, control systems, PLCs, and low voltage electrical systems.

+ Ability to install instrumentation including mounting hardware and sensing lines, pulling and termination of I/O cables, configuration, calibration, and basic PLC interfacing.

+ Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems and their interface with system controls and instrumentation.

+ Able to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and controls system drawings.

+ Able to terminate instrumentation to a controller and perform calibration through the program interface

+ Able to troubleshoot alarms, field instrumentation, pneumatic and electric control valves, variable speed drives and motor starters

+ Must be able to respond quickly to potentially critical situations, perform rapid, accurate assessments, troubleshoot systems and components to identify causes of failures, determine appropriate corrective actions, and implement these corrections promptly to mitigate the effects of system upsets

+ Competent with common computer/software skills -Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

+ Familiar in the use of SCADA systems to monitor and control site infrastructure systems
