Job Title: EEG Technician I
Location: Grand Blanc, MI 48439
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM | Monday Friday
The EEG Technician I performs a variety of highly technical diagnostic neurophysiology procedures under the direction of a physician and in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures. This role is responsible for accurate data collection, patient safety, and preparation of preliminary study results.
Perform EEG and related diagnostic procedures as ordered by a physician
Prepare and set up equipment and supplies for prescribed tests
Review patient history and obtain necessary clinical information/documentation
Educate patients on procedures and obtain appropriate consent
Continuously monitor and document patient condition during testing
Report any adverse reactions or acute abnormalities to appropriate staff
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot EEG, EP, and PSG equipment
Recognize and correct artifacts to ensure high-quality diagnostic data
Score studies, document findings, and prepare reports for physician review
Maintain, calibrate, and perform quality control on equipment
Initiate patient charges as required
Assist with orientation and training of new staff
Perform routine clerical and related duties
Coordinate with staff for patient scheduling and transport
Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding procedures
Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams regarding test results
Minimum six (6) months of experience in a patient care environment
At least two (2) years of experience as an EEG Technician
High School Diploma or GED with two (2) years of relevant experience, or
Associate's Degree, or
Technical Degree
Enrollment in or graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) program preferred
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required prior to start
Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) credential preferred or board eligible per ABRET standards
Registration is preferred but not required
