JOB SUMMARY:

Electrical Project Manager will plan and supervise a wide range of projects from start to finish. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
  • Obtain licenses from appropriate authorities to insure all work complies to codes
  • Determine needed resources manpower, equipment and materials from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor use and material levels to provide timely replenishments as needed.
  • Supervise the work of all staff, sub-contractors etc. and give them guidance when needed
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports as contractually required
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
  • Determine and define scope of work and deliverables
  • Predict resources needed to complete project
  • Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and other regulatory prerequisites
  • Draft and submit budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
  • Manage costs in order to meet budget
  • Provide direction over contracts and subcontracts
  • Manage schedule and activities
  • Issue progress updates as needed regarding costs and timelines
  • Ensure work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes
  • Select and manage subcontractor and supplier relationships
  • Coordinate efforts across entire project between architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors and owners to insure timely invoice payments and collections

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as an electrical project manager
  • In-depth understanding of electrical procedure, material and project management principles
  • Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products and Spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with MS Project & BlueBeam software
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities
  • PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage
  • Bachelor's degree in related field recommended, but not required
  • High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
