Purpose of Position:To perform maintenance on aircraft engines, accessories, and components.
Essential Functions:(must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation).
- Performs maintenance duties on aircraft engines, accessories, and components in accordance with SAC Repair Station Manual, SAC Quality Manual, Customer SOPs, and applicable technical data.
- Using AeroTrac ERP system and company internal paperwork, accurately document the completion of maintenance performed.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Safe operation of the overhead crane
- Complete and maintain Forklift Certification in accordance with company standards
- Correct and safe use of specialty tools, torches, and chemicals as directed
- Perform FOD (Foreign Object Debris) inspections, and toolbox inspections daily
- Works to production schedule as directed by manager/lead
- Communicates with manager/lead to recommend changes, such as equipment utilization, production methods and procedures to increase the efficiency of the department and promote improvement
- Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy
- Observe and practice all safety procedures and personal policies
- Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner
- Maintains a clean workstation free from Foreign Object and/or Debris (FOD), ensures tooling is properly stored
- Maintains a clean/safe workspace free from spills or obstructions which may lead to harm
- Travels as required
- Confers with manager/lead to recommend changes such as: equipment utilization, production methods and procedures to increase the efficiency of the department and promote improvement
- Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner
- Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy
- Works overtime as needed
- Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. safety glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)
- Other duties as required
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:(these are required to enable job holder to perform the essential functions of the job)
- Must provide and maintain personal toolbox in accordance with Segers Tool Control Plan
- Must be able to use large specialty tools such as torque wrenches, impact wrenches, hydraulic press and bearing pullers.
- Must be able to obtain needed information and data from FARs, bulletins, and maintenance manuals to perform assigned maintenance functions.
- Must be proficient in using a variety of hand tools, special tools, and GSE required to perform assigned maintenance tasks.
- Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with, and among co-workers and supervisors
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision and to take initiative
- Must be able to use applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situations
- Must be able to apply common sense
- Must be able to effectively read, write and communicate in English
- Must be proficient in company-specific software and Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply an divide, using fractions and decimals; compute percentages, ratios, rates and interpret graphs.
- Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPE
- Must have knowledge of precision measuring tools/equipment (dimensional and electrical)
- Must be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses
- Must be able to hear running machinery
- Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively
- Must have exceptional eye-hand coordination
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionally
- Must regularly be able to reach overhead
- Must regularly be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, twist and stand
- Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally
- Ability to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years or older and a High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 2 years of professional aviation, mechanical, industrial, or maintenance experience or completion of aviation school is required.
- Experience in performing maintenance on components in an MRO environment is preferred.
- AandP license or FAA Power Plant Ratingis preferred.In lieu of holding an AandP or P license, must be able to obtain a Repairman Certificate by satisfying the requirements as called out in the FAR.
- Forklift certification is preferred.
- Position is considered safety-sensitive in accordance with DOT and FAA regulations. Subject to drug and alcohol testing per DOT FAAs regulations.
- Must pass a criminal background check, DOT-FAA pre-employment drug screen, and comply with all applicable FAA regulations.

Work Conditions:
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Noise is generally loud.
