Objectives of this Role:
- Provide engineering support for research projects on thermofluid systems.
- Topic areas include hydrogen applications, oil and gas, water management, alternative energy, and space applications.
- Contribute to experimental research projects in a laboratory setting.
- Provide design solutions for thermofluid systems using analytical and computational approaches.
- Interact and engage with commercial and government clients to develop solutions that fit their requirements, develop their system, and take them through validation testing.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering design and analysis for thermofluid systems in a laboratory setting on pilot-scale experimental setups. This includes the programming of data acquisition systems, selection and installation of various instruments, and commissioning systems.
- Use analytical and computational methods to support the design and optimization of thermofluid systems.
- Post-process test data; write and present reports and technical papers; manage the technical and financial performance of projects.
- Develop new business through networking, customer engagement, conference attendance, and proposal writing.
Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelors degree Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Fluids Engineering, Thermofluids Engineering, or related degree field.
- Naval experience with pressurized systems desired.
- 0-5 years: Coursework or research project in Thermofluids related area.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex information.
- Desire to make a positive impact on the community through developing research aimed at solving some of our most-pertinent problems.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.

- Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses-Resolving technical and regulatory issues related to a potential geologic repository for spent nuclear fule and high-level radioactive waste.
- Chemistry and Chemical Engineering-Performing research and technical services using chemistry and chemical engineering technology.
- Defense and & Intelligence Solutions-Providing advanced direction finding and tracking systems through geolocation system development.
- Fuels and Lubricants Research-Performing fuels and lubricants research activities to meet regulatory and competitive goals.
- Intelligent Systems-Providing engineering services in resaerch and development of complex systems and equipment.
- Mechanical Engineering-Improving safety, reliability, efficiency and life of new or existing mechanical components or systems.
- Powertrain Engineering-Designing and developing vehicle and engine components to achieve performance and emissions goals.
- Space Science & Engineering-Developing and managing advanced scientific payloads aboard satellites and sounding rockets.
