Description:
FSQ Technician - Avon Mill
**the intent is to convert to full-time on 3rd shift**
3rd shift- 11pm - 7am

OVERVIEW
Reporting directly to Sr. Quality Engineer, this role supports various plant Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) functions to ensure safe and high-quality finished products on 3rd shift. The Avon plant is located just outside of Des Moines, IA, and produces Betty Crocker baking mixes and food service bakery flour.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
" Support Avon's FSQ programs through various analytical testing, physical auditing, verification and administrative duties.
" Monitor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and sanitation program compliance through daily and monthly verification and audits.
" Support plant HACCP program implementation through record verification.
" Partner with operation managers, team leaders and Quality Engineers to support production, decision making, issue management and risk assessment.
" Manage hold orders and plant sensory program.
" Provide training in the area of food safety, regulatory, sanitation and quality measurement systems to appropriate plant personnel.
" Support additional FSRA (Food Safety & Regulatory Assessment) and plant activities as assigned.
" Be trained as a primary back-up to the flour lab technician responsible for flour quality monitoring and specification compliance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
" High School Diploma/GED
" 2-year Associate's Degree (or equivalent work experience)
" Analytical lab experience of 1 to 3 years
" Bias for action and results
" Self-motivated
" Demonstrates effective time management, organizational skills, and informed decision making
" Provides clear and concise communication
" Ability to develop mutual trust with plant employees and be part of constructive, positive change within a plant environment
" Computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook) and ability to learn internal computer programs
" Willingness and ability to flex work hours as needed and adapt to change job requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
" Bachelor's Degree in STEM related field
