Engineering Technician V

Bowhead is seeking an Engineering Technician V to support the Range Systems Department (RS) at NSWC, Corona Division in Norco, CA. The Engineering Technician V will install, integrate, sustain, operate and maintain various fixed, portable, and mobile telecommunications, training and information systems to include Area Distribution Nodes, Range and Training Systems Infrastructure, Range Systems Electronics, and Range Scoring Systems.
Duties will include:
• Perform assignments that are non-routine and complex to involve general knowledge for construction type projects.
• Work with basic hand tools including crimpers, wire strippers, soldering irons, drills and other tools to assist with assembly and repairs to instrument related cabling and other tasks.
• Capable of reviewing engineering plans and offer technical input for conflicts, setup and system improvements.
• Demonstrate the ability to read blueprints, interpret schematics and read precision tools and recording devices.
• Work in a fast paced environment with a safe, quality and cost effective approach.
• Effectively communicate both orally and in writing to other technicians and engineers.
• Accomplish other tasks as assigned.
• Provided guidance and leadership to lower level technicians
• High School Diploma or equivalent or trade school and minimum of 12 years work or military experience in technical field.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• The ability to work in a team environment and exhibit interpersonal skills and communication.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a clearance at the Secret level, however candidates who currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level are highly preferred. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at these locations.
