Job Summary

Roseland Hospital is seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as ER Registrars . This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates looking to grow within the healthcare industry or individuals new to healthcare who are quick learners and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As an ER Registrar, you will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient operations of the Emergency Department by registering patients and ensuring accurate and timely data entry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Registration:
    • Greet patients and families upon arrival in the Emergency Department.
    • Accurately collect, verify, and update patient demographics, insurance information, and contact details.
    • Obtain and validate necessary signatures and forms.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide professional and compassionate assistance to patients and families during stressful situations.
    • Answer questions and address concerns regarding the registration process.
  • Data Management:
    • Maintain accurate records in the hospital’s electronic health record (EHR) system.
    • Ensure compliance with confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Coordination and Communication:
    • Collaborate with clinical staff to prioritize patient care needs.
    • Communicate effectively with insurance companies and other departments to confirm eligibility and authorization.
  • Financial Counseling:
    • Discuss financial responsibilities with patients, including co-pays and payment plans, as appropriate.


Qualifications

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate’s degree or coursework in healthcare administration, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • One to two years of previous work-related experience preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing is preferred.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Computer knowledge and literacy required.
    • Typing speed of 35 words per minute (WPM) or higher.
    • Experience with Meditech 6.0/Expanse electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.
    • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

  • Team-Oriented: Collaborate with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.


Schedule

  • Full-time and part-time positions available.
  • Shifts available: 1st shift, 2nd shift, and 3rd shift.
  • Primary hours: Mornings, Afternoons, and evenings
    • 7 :00 AM – 3:00 PM
    • 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
    • 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
  • Weekdays vary with weekend and holiday rotation.
