Excavator Operator
Location: Vance, Tuscaloosa, and Bessemer, AL
Pay Rate: $20-$24 per hour (based on experience)
United Trades of America is currently hiring Excavator Operators to assist with commercial site development projects in Vance, Tuscaloosa, and Bessemer, AL. These projects focus on sanitary and stormwater drainage systems, pump/lift stations, and water main installations.
Responsibilities:
Operate excavators ranging from 10-50 tons to complete trenching, grading, and backfilling work.
Dig trenches and prepare job sites for pipe installation while maintaining safety and accuracy.
Work alongside pipe layers and laborers to ensure proper alignment and placement of underground utilities.
Read blueprints and grade stakes to determine depth, angle, and slope requirements.
Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance to ensure safe operation.
Adhere to all OSHA and company safety policies while operating heavy equipment.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience operating excavators in a commercial construction setting.
Ability to read site plans and grade stakes for excavation work.
Strong understanding of trench safety and soil stability.
Must be comfortable working around live utilities and maintaining a safe work environment.
Must have reliable transportation and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
